I don’t know how long this has been going on, but Google looks to have just introduced a new feature on its translation service. Hover your mouse over a Google Translate text block on a website and a box pops up which says – ‘Suggest a Better Translation’. Click on it and you can add your own text suggestion. It’s very similar to the Very Cool Worldwide Lexicon Project, but this one will no doubt get much faster traction because of the G. connection. Watch out for it on a Google translated page near you soon, and if you can’t wait, try it here!
I love the “Suggest a Better Translation” tool. By combining automated translation with a human editing capability, Google provides us with a tool that offers the best of both worlds.
A lot of potential!
Looks like Google are starting to emprace the web2.0 side of translation like SocialTranslator.org. Finally
