Pearl Hydrogen Bicycle – fuel cell tech helps you pedal your way from H to O

Pearlhydrogenbike

Pearl Hydrogen Bicycle. This fuel cell powered bicycle is available now, has a top speed of 25 km per hour and a range of 100 km on two small cylinders of hydrogen (metal hydride). The small box you see above produces the electrical power to run the bike, by the way. Of course it’s totally battery and pollution free, but it goes twice as far as a standard Li-ion battery alternative. It takes 30 seconds to refuel it with hydrogen (from a large rented BOC tank in your garage) and the bike also folds in half so you can load it into your SUV and feel really eco-warrior when you get it out at your destination. £1950.00 + VAT or £1500.00 for a fuel cell conversion kit for your existing electric bike.

The Pearl hydrogen bike has a top speed of 25km per hour and a range of up to 100km on two small cylinders of hydrogen stored as metal hydride. It folds in half and will fit neatly in the boot of an average estate car without folding down the rear seat. As with all our bikes it is EU-compliant and does not need insurance or a licence for road use.

  • They may need to work on the look of the thing if they’re going to sell it to the guys like the one in that picture.

  • The word you’re searching for is…earnest. :-)
