MP3 for fishes – a brace of wet and willing music player solutions for dolphins

You’re sporty right? You like getting wet all over? But you like music too, to make your splashing go with a…well…splash. So hereforth and hencetoward, try using either this Oregon Scientific MP 120 Waterproof MP3 player ($88.95), which will stay dry for 30 minutes at 1 meter depth, or take the full plunge (geddit?) and submerge your precious Video iPod down to 10 feet using this rather nifty H20 iPod Underwater Housing. Either way you get to listen to stuff other than the squelch of wax rippling in your aural cavities, which has got to be a bonus, eh? $59.95.

The MP120 combines a waterproof and shockproof design with an impressive list of advanced features: 128MB of internal memory, integrated FM radio, built-in rechargeable battery and fast USB 2.0 file transfers. Fill one up with your favorite music and take it to the gym or take it for a swim! **Oregon Scientific MP3 players were tested at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes and no water penetrated the player. The manufacturer recommends resurfacing every 30 minutes to equalize the pressure of the player if it is kept fully submerged. This shouldn’t affect you if you are swimming laps.

  1. One says:

Awfull stuff, I had mp120. Shitty headphones (water kept leaking all the time), awful navigation, absolutely stupid firmware (had several very annoying bugs, that were not bugs but rather features of some genius in RD), and shitty support. I regretted many times I bought it. Will never use OS stuff again.
