While great in theory, and nice to look at, there are a few design flaws with these lights, notably that they don’t take well to getting wet.

Also the clever rotationy bit designed to stop you smashing your back light against the ground when it falls over has a tendency of detaching from your bike when you hit a bump at even moderate speeds.

Personally, mine will be going back, and I’ll wait for version 2.

Hi,

reveived one for Christmas 08; so haven't tested it in wet weather so far.

But it has a tendency to loose synchronisation those days (rear and front). Then the front light switches off by itself after 30 seconds.

Maybe due to cold weather (-5 to-10°c 23 to 14°F in the morning)?

Apart from that (!) it's quite brite and efficient.

Hello,

some more comment: since I had this trouble (which did not happen again!) I contacted Bicygnals through their website.
Here is their helpful tip for synchronizing the device:

"However an easy way to enter the pairing mode without taking the batteries out is to switch the front on and then hold the on/off switch down for 2/3 seconds. The front should then start flashing looking for a unit to pair. Repeat the process with the rear and the two units should then pair up. This procedure is easier than trying to take the batteries out with gloves on."

It works!

P.S. I changed the batteries for the rear part after 1 month of use (approximately 7 hours + 10 hours when I forgot to swich the gear off for one day!!)

Wet is a problem. I had to modify both the front and back mounting systems. When you have panniers or a rack on the back, the brackets are useless. It would be nice to have generator option so you don't have to change the batteries every week. This is a problem with my self-designed semi-permanent back set mounted like it is on my pannier. Other than mounting problems and battery life, I really like the idea.
