Web 2.0, bizarre

Sleep FM – the first social network powered alarm clock

Sleepfm

Sleep FM. A new beta service which offers a twist on the old online alarm clock theme. Instead of relying on a basic alarm, you can set the service so that your friends and family can wake you up every morning with a custom voice or music audio track. You leave the computer on over night and the next morning you’re woken up by the sound of your daughter saying ‘Daddy I love you…’ or your best mates screaming obscenities from the speaker. It sounds a tad risky to me, but what do I know?

The first sleep and wake up social networking site, where your friends’ alarm messages wake you up!

    Hi

I am using Sleep.FM as a beta tester and that is one thing I was concerned about. Being awakened by some prankster, but with Sleep.FM you first hear a few short tones of a buzzer and then your audio messages. There is an option for you to turn off the buzzer and just hear your audio messages if you choose.

  2. This looks like one of those things that’s taking “Web 2.0″ a bit too seriously – there’s no need to social media-ise everything! It’s a cutesy idea but what’s the payback for anyone to leave a message for someone else?

Chris, what was the payback for you to leave a comment?

The psychology of this piece of technology(reading other posts about it) is interesting!

Shows some people don’t trust those in their circle to do them right, while some do! I guess it poses the question “Are you an alarm clock person or a social alarm clock person?”

Me…. leave me a message my Social Alarm Clock is on!
