Indoor Doggy Restroom – do stay today for the doo tray

Indoordogrestroom

The Indoor Dog Restroom is just a terrible idea, isn’t it? Well actually it’s probably not the worst. Dangling your pooch over the edge of your apartment window on a bungee rope while he does his business is probably worse. But it’s close. $149.95.

This mat-and-tray system gives dogs a place to relieve themselves when they can’t get outside for respite. Ideal for high-rise dwelling dogs, when owners aren’t home, or even just for times of harsh weather, this ingenious system uses a mat made of antimicrobial pourous artificial turf that gives off an organic scent to attract dogs, so they can be taught quickly that it is an acceptable spot for relieving themselves. The mat sits on top of a plastic grate which allows liquid to drain into the included tray for easy clean-up. The turf yarn is a unique construction specially designed for use with dogs, and its antimicrobial composition help prevent odors.

  • Ummm…. I guess if you live in the city, in a big apartment building this makes sence. People I know have back yards…

  • Just a minute…its missing a hydrant or any such thing for males to take a leak on. If your male dog does lift his leg, he’s likely to piss all over your floor. I would have considered having 2 or 3 walls on the thing with a plastic plant or hydrant for males.

Secondly, odor reducing plastic or not, have you walked into a room where a dog had a fresh “accident” and dropped a pile? It reeks like dead bodies…

  • nb, yeah those were my thoughts too. Peww….. :-)

  • Ok, but has anyone actually tried this tray thing? I'm seriously considering it for a new mini-pin dog I have who DOES NOT like cold weather and DOES like my rugs. Are dogs really attracted to it somehow? Is it worth the $150?

  • I was wonering the same as above I am in need of somewhere for Chihuahua to go when winter comes we live in WI

  • This is really very interesting, thank you for the post, I am impressed, you have been informative all the way.

  • There are electric dog fencing options that you could purchase to make your yard a controlled outdoor doggy restroom
