It’s so hot that villagers in India apparently use it smeared on fence posts to keep the elephants away. We’re talking ten times hotter than a habanero chilli. Get the idea?

TunnelBear Mobile – excellent free WiFi security tool now available on Android and iPhone [Freeware]

One of the things it’s important to remember is the fact that wireless networking connections (especially public WiFi) are inherently insecure, which means it’s pretty easy for people with a bit of tech skill to tap into your connection and spy on your stuff. The ones we’ve looked at in the past have promised much, and in the end delivered more disappointment than anything else. The big problem with most of them is they’re just too darned hard to install, and when you do finally manage to get it all working, there’s typically something which doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, which is very annoying. But now there’s...

Pixlr Express – superb free smartphone photo editing, and no lousy ads [Freeware]

Autodesk is a company that usually only comes up when you’re talking about some heavy hitting design software, since they’re the makers of Maya and Autocad among other design industry standard products. But they’re not all business, there’s a lighter side to the company. They also make some pretty solid mobile apps. Pixlr Express, for example, is a superb little photo editing app  whcih can turn your mobile photos into little masterpieces.
