OhLife – brilliant email based free daily journal service

Ohlife

OhLife is an absolutely brilliant online diary service. How many times have you said ‘I really ought to start a diary’? Well now you can, and more to the point, for the first time you might actually keep it up. Why?

Ohlife2

Well for one thing, once you’ve signed up to the free service, every evening at 8pm (your time) you’ll receive an email reminder asking ‘How did your day go?’ Just hit the reply button and write your diary entry and it will be automatically posted to the site. Privately and securely. So easy.

You’ll also receive a random diary post from the past in your reminder email, so you can relive past excitement. If you want. The interface is drop dead gorgeous, the idea is fabulous (blogging meets scrapbooking meets journaling meets tweeting) and it deserves to fly fly fly.

Write your entries by email. Every night we’ll email you the question “How did your day go?” Just reply with your entry and it’s saved here instantly. … Peek at the past everyday. Your nightly email has a random entry from the past. Forget what you were up to a week or a month ago? We’ll show you.

  • Sorry, that’s kind of scary. In this day and age, of Facebook and MySpace, this probably qualifies me as curmudgeonly and over the hill, but I’m not sure I’m comfortable uploading that kind of personal information to a “service” that lives in the “cloud.” I like the basic idea though, the interface / concept is in the vein of one of those, “it’s so simple it’s brilliant”-type things.

  • Thanks Red I really like this and I've signed up but I'm not satisfied! I want to be able to include a photo with my daily email. I guess I'll have to wait for the premium version.

    • you can attach a photo to the email you reply with, just signed up today and tried it. Worked great
