Qlipboard – freeware lets you easily create How To videos

Qlipboard

The web is awash with How To videos, such is our thirst for knowledge, which makes the Qlipboard freeware program interesting. The software appears to be designed to help folks create instructional videos, complete with annotations, imported media and screengrabs.

The freeware version only allows low resolution video, and has limits on storage and post production editing, but it’s perfectly usable for simple tasks. It’s very Windows oriented, so the output is strictly in a .WMV format, and to be honest the interface is really quite annoying, and detracts significantly from the utility of the package.

For instance I couldn’t find any way to tweak or test the audio input settings, which makes things a bit hit or miss for a newbie user. Despite this, the program has some neat features and is certainly worth watching out for, in the hopes they ditch the quirky UI and improve some of the admin functionality.

QlipBoard is the simplest way to capture anything you see on your computer with one click, and then talk, write and draw on the images you have captured. With one more click, you can email or share Qlippits through the web with anyone. Use it at work or play and make communication creative, fun and effective.
