The Airline History site features a whole bunch of cool photos and information on the history of aviation. Planes, airports, airlines, it’s all lovingly delivered on the site. The same site also offers a free instrument flight simulator program for download, which looks quite cool (although it’s no Microsoft Flight Simulator that’s fer sure). [via bifurcatedrivets]

Dave’s digicam picks

Dave Etchells of the Imaging Resource, that rather more than excellent digital camera site, has posted a new section entitled Dave’s Picks List. The area features a bunch of mini reviews and recommendations based around different categories of cameras, such as ‘Family’, ‘Tight Budgets’ and ‘Sports’. It’s a great place to bookmark for future reference, although I was a bit surprised to notice that the Exilim was not featured. Er not considered good enough for your erudite pages, Dave?

The end of PayPal?

Hmmm, this one seems to have slipped under a lot of people’s radar. Veteran portal Yahoo! appears to have introduced a rather interesting PayPal competitor called PayDirect, which is being…ahem…bankrolled…by the HSBC bank. Now for those wot don’t know, the HSBC – or Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Company to give the full moniker – is one of the world’s largest and most innovative banks. Their biggest claim to fame is the establishment of what many consider to be the…

Tophead Dual Monitor

Now here’s clever. The Tophead Dual Monitor is a standard sized LCD flat screen monitor with a smaller 6.4 inch screen tacked onto the top. The clever bit is that you can use the tiny screen to watch TV, surf the Web or whatever while you’re doing grown up things with the main monitor. Or vice versa of course. No idea on pricing yet though. It’s one of those, ‘now why didn’t they think of this before’ kind of products…
