BlueSpoon

The NextLink BlueSpoon Bluetooth wireless mobile phone headset is just about the tiniest thing around. It is not particularly cheap at 268.00, but according to reviews appears to work very well indeed considering its size. Whether it will be better for you healthwise (see below) in terms of radiation is, of course, another matter.

Safe as houses

Those who are becoming concerned about the health issues surrounding the use of their mobile phones, should check out the Safe Talk for Life universal phone hands free headset. 19.95 buys you a headset which apparently cuts out between 98.5 and 99.5% of all radiation (according to ‘independent tests’). Alternatively why not look a complete gonk and invest in a Mobile Cap which for $48.50 shields your ear/head from harmful radiation through the use of a strategically designed ear flap….

The site deals with anything from inkjet refills to ‘clap and find your keys’ type gizmos. Well worth a bookmark.

Even smaller MM cards arrive

Hot on the heels of the MultiMedia Card Association’s announcement of a new teenier, tinier MM card specification, comes news that Hitachi is going to be first out of the blocks with sample product shipping within a week or so. Expect to see 16, 32 and 64MB cards on the streets early next year. [via digitlife] For those who are interested the new spec makes the cards the same width, but almost half the length of existing SD/MM cards, which…

GameBoy Player

Nintendo has announced the GameBoy Player, an add-on for the ‘not selling so well’ GameCube which will let you play GameBoy games on your television. Whether GameBoy games, designed for the tiny LCD, will translate well on the bigger screen is a matter best left for individual judgement I s’pose. Available in May 2003 in the US. [via madville]

Truth in Advertising

These links to a series of short video clips are hilarious, dealing as they do with the sad and seedy nature of the advertising business. The original was out a while ago, but the sequel and it’s successor make it a fantastic trilogy of fun. Warning: direct to video links. [via metafilter]

Rocket science aids beauty

Behold! And so we enter the age of cosmeceuticals. Or perhaps that should be Cosmo-ceuticals. Whatever, the word denotes the blend of beauty and science, designed to help us stay young and fresh looking. Apparently it’s going to be a $3.9 billion industry by 2006. Pass me the copper and anti-wrinkle enzymes then.
