Mobile phone on an SD card

According to the good folks over at The Inquirer, Siemens in the UK has been showing off a prototype mobile phone SD card. The card, which will work in any standard SD card slot, can handle GSM and GPRS and should retail for around 270 euros when it is released later this year. Fascinating way to convert your Palm or PocketPC PDA into a phone methinks. [via gizmodo]

Actually what he invented was the one completely without wires which TV maker Zenith introduced in that year – the Space Command. Now you may think that this is sort of ‘ho hum, so what’, but in fact it’s had a profound effect on television, commercials, and probably even obesity rates over the years. Fastchat for fun

Whilst I was visiting the GSM World show in Cannes earlier this year I stumbled upon the folks from FastMobile and had a live demo of their push to talk application FastChat. It basically uses GPRS to turn your mobile phone into a walkie talkie, with one to one or one to group features. New Palms

Two new PDAs from veteran Palm. The Zire now sports a higher price tag and an integral digital camera, while the new Tungsten C has inbuilt WiFi capabilities. Actually they’re a bit late. Should have released this stuff on Palm Sunday, but what do I know? Am I the only one in the world that thinks WiFi is way too over-rated. Especially if you’re miles away from an electrical socket?
