Picked up this banner ad from the Gizmodo site. The Taz1 portable media player from Tight Audio Systems appears to have a pretty neat spec. 4″ screen, 60GB hard drive, SD slot, 9 hours playback, video and audio, USB 2.0. Size – 6″ x 4″ x 1.5″. Still vapourware at the moment though.

Wow. The NorthQ DVD Player/Hard Drive Recorder has a removable hard drive tray. Just insert your own drive and go. Now that’s what I call infinite television storage.

Passive radar.

Nice Businessweek article on passive radar, including the Celldar system which uses mobile phone base stations to track vehicles and stuff just like normal radar. But at a fraction of the cost.

CEATEC Japan.

Here’s some interesting stuff from the CEATEC exhibition [warning:Babel] currently running in Japan – including an MP3 player watch and a slot in DV-CAM drive for your PC. This is a pretty cool idea, to simply slot your camcorder tape into the PC to capture the video to disk.
