Bluejack bac!
I’ve just received a PR email outlining the ways that Bluejacking can be used for advertising purposes. Nasty email. Nasty concept. Let’s hope it crawls back into its box real soon now (to join the naff viral marketing stuff in the corporate gutter). One example given? TagText. Sheesh! Oh dear, I may have started something ugly here. I suspect that it was the Ferret that first introduced Bluejacking to a wider world. Little Ellie sent me an email invite to…
Read MoreRadar golf.
The Radar Golf system is designed to help golfers find their balls. Quickly. Even if lost in the rough. This could actually be a rather neat solution to the plague of slow weekend players thrashing around in bushes the world over. The only drawback is that golf ball makers will have to integrate an electronic tag into their products, which they may not be too keen to do. ‘The unit emits a radar signal that scans and looks for the…

Read MoreLap dog.
A new ‘dog on a chip‘ (huh?) may one day be used instead of real canines to check for illicit substances like drugs. Once detected it sends an alarm to a laptop. ‘The dog-on-a-chip works with antibodies by looking at their molecular structure, Hunt said. In this case the researchers tested cocaine antibodies, which change in structure and mass if they come into contact with cocaine molecules.’

Matsushita Avionics Systems has just announced a new collaboration with Delta Airlines and EchoStar to introduce a new version of its ‘MAS eFX‘ in flight entertainment service. Live telly at 30,000 feet? I’m still not completely sure what Lomography is – even after having visited the web site. Nevertheless, for some strange reason, I feel a curious empathy for the concept. ‘Rule #1 – take your camera everywhere you go.’

Those who do not believe that within a few years we will have animated movie stars, should take a look at the stills and videos of Kaya. And this is just an early work in progress.

They snack. Constantly. 5) New Yorkers…
Read More1 million free music downloads.
Inspired by this Kuro5hin thread recently, I have compiled a very short link list of some of the free music sites that are out on the web at the moment. Of course this is literally just a fraction of the total, but I figured that 1 million free & legal music tracks or so was enough to be going on with. I’ll link the file permanently on the front page here for general use. ‘And yes, I realise that with…
