Sanity Claws II…

Samsung. The company was showing off a few of its new products at the multi vendor press show I attended a few days back, including the SP-50L7 50″ DLP projection television. The brochure picture above doesn’t do it justice (dufus here forgot to take a snap), as it’s really quite a nice looking product. Not as crystal sharp as a big LCD, and with a slightly narrower viewing angle and still pricey at 3500.00, but for that size screen probably…

Hey, Mr DJ…

If I was a DJ I’d want a Numark CDX Premium Direct Drive CD Turntable. Oh yes I would. Around $800.00. ‘Do anything with CDs that you can do with records, all while feeling genuine turntable. Why does CDX feel so real? Because it is built with the same ultra-high torque direct drive motor as our flagship TTX, complete with 12-inch vinyl and slipmat. Vinyl feel just doesnt get more real than this.’

Santa claws!

Oh yes, Christmas is definitely coming, and that sound you hear is the stampede of manufacturers lining up their holiday product portfolios for our pleasure and delectation. I went along to a multi vendor pre-launch press do yesterday and came back with some interesting stuff which I will share with you herewith if you like. First up the Gizmondo. First impressions of this new Brit handheld games console? Surprisingly good. The 2.8 inch TFT screen is excellent (better than the…

Classic British Cafes.

Classic British Cafes. Also known as ‘greasy spoons’ for obvious reasons (and akin to the famous American Diner I suppose). Fabulous stuff for nostalgia and culture buffs. What this site doesn’t tell you is just how much money many of these cafe owners make. Rather like London taxi drivers, cafe owners do all right for themselves, believe me. Even if they only have a hole in the wall type. ‘Often dismissed as ‘greasy spoons’, classic cafes are actually little gems…

Siemens CX70.

The good folk at Siemens are claiming that their new CX70 phone is the world’s first push to talk handset which uses the open IMS standard. And who are we to argue? ‘With the introduction of the CX 70, Siemens mobile is the world’s first manufacturer to offer an end-to-end solution for “Push and Talk” (PaT) based on open specifications…As the first Voice-over-IP application, Push and Talk is based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the technology platform for many…
