Boost or bust?

The mobile phone Antenna Booster. Fact or fiction? You decide. $12.99.  This the same “boost your signal by 300%” antenna that you see advertised on TV infomercials for $19.95 to $29.95. We hate TV infomercials. After seeing all the miracle car waxes and get rich quick products, many of us immediately laugh at their outrageous claims. Since this product was mobile phone related, we ordered some for testing a few months ago. Our expectation was to find it totally useless…

PHEV car.

The PHEV (pneumatic hybrid electric vehicle) car runs on air. Compressed air. And batteries. Pretty clever, pretty Korean. More here.   If a car uses compressed air engine it can reduce about 20% of the total cost of production because it doesn’t have cooling system, fuel tank, sparking plug and silencer etc….The exhausted gas from the cars has a bad effect to environment but compressed air engine doesn’t exhaust noxious gas, therefore this engine can solve the problems of environmental…

Mind over matters.

Apparently the boffins have started to learn how to read our thoughts. Not nervous me, oh no. I’ll just keep changing my mind constantly. That’ll fool ‘em, the idiots.  Scientists from Japan and the United States have figured out how to read a person’s mind by remotely measuring brain activity, extracting information of which the subject is not even aware. Science fiction? No. It’s real.

Ugly motor.

Apparently the Aurora is considered to be the world’s ugliest car. Hmm..kind of makes sense really, doesn’t it? [Thanks RJ]  A bizarre car that has been dubbed the ‘ugliest automobile in the world’ is today back on the road 50 years after its launch. The unique Aurora, a 19 feet long monster that was built by an eccentric New York priest as the ultimate safety vehicle, is now turning heads again. Father Alfred Juliano bankrupted himself creating the prototype, which remained…

Strange brew.

StrangeBanana. Strange website design generator. Actually make that strange, strange website design generator.  StrangeBanana is a program that creates a random webpage design. The page design you are looking at has never been seen before – it was created programmatically just now. If you want, you can use this design for your own website (in that case you should save it immediately, because when you leave the page, you will never be able to get the same design again).

Gmail redux.

Using Gmail as a spam filter. Next week. How to turn Gmail into a fully serviceable Hubble Telescope.  I recently got my Gmail account up and running, but I wasn’t finding a whole lot of use for it since I have a primary account on MBoffin.com that I use for everything. Just for kicks, I decided to have all my MBoffin.com e-mail (spam and all) forwarded to my Gmail account to see how well it would handle my e-mail habits and workflows,…

Mow maverick.

Build your own radio controlled lawn mower.  All lawn mowers have one basic flaw. Get rid of it and it’s much lighter, goes faster, goes under low branches and between bushes, turns on a dime, saves gas, mows in the rain and lets you have fun to as well. That flaw is the rider. So we made radio-control mowers…The mower was designed to go under fruit trees and between shrubs that are awkward or impossible with a rider. And to…
