Pedal power.

The Pedgen I. David Butcher has built himself an electricity maker (here he is on a prototype not watching television). He hopes to release the plans shortly. Possibly only masochists need apply?   Every morning, I pedal to generate electricity. The pedal generator charges batteries, that run an inverter, that produces 110v AC, that powers the monitor on my computer, and many other small battery-powered things. It is the most inspiring workout you can imagine.

Hi-Fi Link for iPod.

Matthew from Xitel, the upmarket audio company, assures me that the new Hi-Fi Link for iPod is a top quality way of feeding your iPod audio to your home stereo system or home theatre. Something to do with the gold connectors, shielded cables, TruBass and ‘advanced psychoacoustics’. USB phone recorder.

The Blast R-1000 Phone Recorder. Record phone and voicemail messages directly to your PC hard disk via the USB port. It’s even got an inbuilt microphone for some real live recording fun. The software comes with search, sort and archive functionality, which would probably have been useful for Thomas Hawk in his recent tussle with that nasty PriceRitePhoto store in New York.  Search, sort, email recordings — add comments and bookmarks, too! You can instantly replay any conversation, or search…

Dream Life to go.

According to my new marketing friend Trisha at PriceGrabber.com, the current top selling toy online is this Hasbro Dream Life TV Plug-in Game. It appears to be a $44.99 hybrid of Second Life and The Sims without all the messy stuff like interacting with other people. Just plug it into a television and you’re good to go, you can even save games to play round your friend’s house. Yikes. Xbox 360, what’s that?  Answers on an over heated remote control to…  It’s…

Ladies, spoil the man in your life this year with the LBC (Laid Back Computing) 2000 computer rig. Your cuddly couch potato will thank you with tears in his eyes as he unpacks his slob prop and accessories, just watch his cute little love handles jiggle with joy. $1600.00 says ‘I adore you’ better than any cardiac arrest machine ever will.  Now use any size monitor, up to and including 21 inch monitors, next to any bed, low-armed chair, or couch. Machined…

Mini TV Remote Control Prank.

Ooh here’s a jolly jape, pranksters. The Mini TV Remote Control Prank let’s you surreptitiously take control of any nearby television and not just switch it off, but change channel, volume or on/off. Just hold down the mute button and the device hunts for the code to lock onto. When the telly goes silent you know you’ve got control. Muhaahahahaahahaha! Thrill as you drive your father-in-law nuts during that crucial mid-season football game, chuckle as you ruin your sister’s soap, choke with laughter as…
