PictureBook Pocket Photo Frame – your family in your pants

The PocketBook Pocket Digital Photo Frame lets you carry your loved ones around in your pocket. Of course you may think that this $200.00 device is something that you can do without, since you already have a mobile phone, a digital camera and a laptop computer which can all do similar service. But you have to realise that buying stuff like this keeps the economic wheels of the world running, and stops aliens from Alpha Centauri slaughtering us without pity to steal our Christmas…

Potenco Pull Cord Power – pull for power without batteries

The Potenco Pull Cord Power System uses good old arm muscles to generate electricity for small devices. It’s sort of like Trevor Baylis’ wind up tech, but instead of cranking, you pull on a cord. It’s apparently been selected for the famous $100 Laptop project, so who knows where this tech might end up. A pull and play iPod, maybe? [Via Gizmag]  Potenco has developed a patent-pending portable power generator that is always powered wherever you go. Simply pull a…

RoadBox – vehicle accident camera

The RoadBox is a vehicle accident camera system which incorporates a speed and acceleration monitor to give you some all round information about the circumstances leading up to the crash. 14 seconds before and 6 seconds after, actually. It’s only 8 frames a second and VGA quality, so don’t go expecting any George Lucas footage, but it might help out some. The main problem of course is that accidents happen in all sorts of directions, not just facing forward.  It…

Humble Voice – artist community done right

Humble Voice. Somewhere deep in my breast a small voice is shouting, ‘the world can’t support any more social networking sites, really it can’t’, but I’m ignoring it because I really like this site. It’s a meta-artist community site for musicians, photographers, writers and suchlike, with a beautifully clean and sensible design. It also has a huge set of neat features which are ridiculously easy to understand and use. But one word, guys. Try and realise that a FAQ which is…

Suntimer – the sun alarm watch

The Minox Suntimer UV Alarm Watch. This puppy provides a little bit more intelligence than your average UV monitor, since it calculates your optimum UV exposure based on a number of factors which you enter, such as skin type and the sunscreen you’re using. This is clearly a product for those who spend long hours in the sun. Hmm…perhaps we ought to think about getting out a bit more? €49.00.  With its special sensors it measures the amount of ultraviolet…

Anti-Bug – the detector of radio beetles

The AntiBug Keychain Bug Detector. OK hands up, we admit it, we’re featuring this cute little spy camera and bug detector because we just loove the Babelfish translation from Russian. Detector of the ‘beetles’ indeed. Arf! About $113.00 in Russian stuff.

Pure Digital Camcorder – point, shoot, play

The Pure Digital PSV-351 Point & Shoot Camcorder may look like just another solid state digital camcorder, but there are a few differences. First it comes with an integrated USB plug, so you can plug in and edit footage on your computer instantly. The other neat thing is that the software is already built in to the device itself, so no messy installation needed, and it connects automagically with Google Video to upload and share your clips.
