Cabestan Watch – cranky indulgence

The Cabestan Watch provides yet more proof of the current decline of Western civilisation. Why else would you pay money to someone to create a timepiece that looks so ridiculously fragile? Anyway, it’s available in a small run of 135 units until 2008, so if you hurry and have an enormous pile of cash available, you may just grab one in time.  Winding the watch and setting the hour and minutes are effected using a winding stem in the form of a…

Unyte – free desktop sharing for Skype

Unyte is a pretty cool desktop sharing plug-in for Skype. Just download, install and you’ve got 1:1 sharing of your Windows desktop, applications and tea cups (we wish!). We wrote about this when it launched beta in January, but now it’s released properly, and it actually does work well. And with hardly any lag etc. Better still, they have priced it really aggressively. Free for 1:1 limited view sharing, and just $30 a year for 1:1 shared control access. Unfortunately there’s…

Das Park Hotels – green field hostelry

Das ParkHotel. Oh we can laugh at these drainage pipe hotel rooms in some far off field in Austria, but if property prices keep rising as they are, we may all end up dossing down in tiny rooms like these. You have been warned.  It is a little comfortable small housing unit, just like a coin locker where friends or other people can sleep in and safely store private belongings, reload their personal and their tech- nical devices batteries. To work…

Advanced WindowsCare Personal is billed as the ‘most essential and practical’ Windows fix utility. Yell.com Mobile – where’s the nearest…?

One of the suckiest things about search on mobile phones is the fact that it doesn’t work. No it doesn’t. But it’s getting there, primarily because the big players have realised that there’s a huge latent demand for information on the go. Nice to see, therefore, a new update from a brand leader. Yell.com Mobile, part of the Yellow Pages empire, has just re-launched and it’s a nice effort all round in terms of the interface, data and ease of use….
