High Capacity Coin Sorter – aka the busker’s buddy

The Royal Sovereign FS-4DA Coin Sorter is a beast of a machine, and a must have if you’re a busker on a busy beat. The motor sorts 312 coins a minute into the correct piles and you can count up to $70.00 before you have to switch wrappers. Apparently Bill Gates owns one. Not. $169.95.  This coin-sorting machine allows you to preload 16 coin wrappers (4 for each denomination) into coin tubes and automatically slides the next coin tube and…

UltraShape – vibrate away those love handles

UltraShape is a new non-surgical technique that uses ultrasound to break down fat cells so the body can expel them. The result is apparently like having liposuction but without the nasty bruising, incisions and other surgical stuff which makes for a pretty unpleasant experience. Oh thanks be to spinach that mines body is so perfects already.  The UltraShape solution, developed by plastic surgeons and scientists for the medical community, is based on a technological breakthrough using ultrasound waves, which are designed…

Email to image converter – spam beater for website owners

Email Address to Image Converter. If you really want to protect your email address from spam harvesters on your web site, you may need to use this handy little tool which converts the text into a non-clickable and non machine readable image. Of course it means that your readers can’t click on it to email you too, but that’s may be the price you have to pay for peace of mind, eh?  According to this report (March, 2003), one of the…

Lava Lamp Night Light – bubble snooze

The Lava Lamp Night Light combines the mesmerising quirkiness of a 60’s lava lamp with the usefulness of a night light to illuminate those dark and dismal corners of the soul. Well perhaps not quite so dramatical. Anyhoo, it comes in red or yellow lava flavours and is guaranteed to make it happen, like, man. $9.99.  The Lava Lamp Night Light looks great plugged into any wall outlet. A flip of the switch and science takes over. The wax is slightly denser than…

Sarantel Nanotrack – world’s smallest GPS/GPRS tracking device

The Sarantel Nanotrack is being billed as the world’s smallest GPS/GPRS tracking device, and it sure looks like it fits the bill. It’s quad band and little bigger than a matchbox and is firmware upgradeable remotely, which means it can be programmed to be ultra power efficient and run longer if needed. We can’t think of any use for this puppy in the real world, oh no we can’t.  Just larger than a matchbox, the Nanotrack is the world’s smallest GPS tracker and…

Kidsleep Alarm Clock – keep them quiet

The Kidsleep Alarm Clock is designed to give parents a bit of a hand with the morning wake-up issues. As every mum or dad knows, kids tend to get up at random times of the day or night sometimes. This clock is supposed to train them through the use of a picture of a sleeping animal (not time) or a wide awake one (get up and annoy your folks). It’s also a night light and musical alarm clock, so double…

Nokia N95 up close – iPhone? Pah!

Went to the launch of the Nokia N800 last week, and have to say I really like it. It’s a subtle but definite advance over the N770 which it replaces, but I still despair over the lack of an HSDPA connection. WiFi is just too restrictive in terms of hotspot availability. Two things stand out though. First, the power management seems to be much better, you actually do get a really decent standby time out of it. Second, the beefier…

Mobyko – store your mobile data for free

Mobyko is another of those online SIM card storage services which pop up now and then. They all seem very interesting, although I am wary of trusting my very personal data to any service like this until it has been around for a long while and is therefore likely to be around for a good while longer. See also TxtVault and TreasuremyText .  Mobyko is the simple and easy way to save all your names and numbers to one safe place. So now…

Skip-Away CD Repair System – iron away those scratches

The Skip-Away CD Repair System uses a new technology called OptoClear which apparently ‘irons’ out the scratches on your CDs to make them play as new. All in 3 minutes. And it comes in lots of lovely colours, kiddies.  Sanding machines attempt to sand down the peaks, while wax solutions aim to fill in the valleys. OptoClear does neither. OptoClear works like ironing a shirt—it applies the right combination of heat, pressure and time to iron out the peaks and…
