Soundbombs – record something and then startle people

The Soundbomb Project. Apply to buy one of these motion sensitive, recording and playback toys and you can set it up to startle passers-by with your own choice of loud noise. Oh yes, they call it art. Oh and only those who ‘deserve’ one, will be able to buy one, so get over it, Mr Gates.  Soundbombs are New-Media-Accessories. Each one a lowtech object for interactive transmission. An integrated soundmodul makes it possible to record any given sound and then…

Help Mandyleigh get famous – call for support

Longtime Ferret reader Gary writes in to ask for some support for his wife Mandyleigh, who is bidding to win a Sellaband competition with her jazz rock music and possibly make it big time in the recording world. She’s pretty good actually (although I’m not totally sure about Numb, Gary), so why not give her a helping hand? She’s promised to give everyone who helps out a link to download all of her MP3 tracks for free. And hey, if…

Infant Care Timer – keeping track of baby

The Itzbeen Infant Baby Timer is one of those weird products that could only come out of the mind of a marketing Mom. Who else would create a product that makes sure you don’t forget to feed baby? You what? Have you ever tried forgetting to feed baby? With six pairs of ear plugs in and barricaded behind a solid steel door you can still hear the howls. Anyway, who are we to question? After all it’s only $24.95.  This is the…

Solar Lantern Light – from the sun to you, with love

This Solar Lantern Light may not wow you with its subtlety and elegance, but it’s probably very functional, thank you very much. In a typically Chinese uber-utilitarian way. Apparently it provides 7 hours continuous light, which is not bad at all, so you can stop your sneering at the back there. It even comes with a car charger option in case the sun goes out. UndercoverXP – free CD and DVD cover maker

UndercoverXP is free CD and DVD cover maker. It also does inlays and CD labels, although it looks as though you have to do most of the image manipulation before you import the image into the program. It’s not bad in fact, and worth a download if you’re in the need for such a beastie, especially since it’s available in a pretty impressive 24 languages.  UndercoverXP is a free program to easily print CD and DVD covers.
