Thunderbolt Pro – long range storm detector

The Thunderbolt Pro promises to detect on-coming thunderstorms up to 75 miles away. Colour me amazed, since our weather service couldn’t even predict the recent onslaught of enough rain to drown a Blue Whale. Anyhoo, the device works by detecting the lightning strikes that come with storms, so you’re kind of out of luck if your particular downpour isn’t that electrical. The fun bit is the flashing red LED and audible alarms and the series of up to 50 increasingly terrified text messages (“Quick,…

Carbibles – everything you need to know about cars, ‘natch

Chris Longhurst’s Carbibles site is a veritable treasure trove of information on everything to do with motor cars. Engines, wheels, brakes, transmissions, you name he covers it, in exhaustive – nay encyclopaedic – depth. It’s a massive undertaking and a daunting read, but there’s gold buried in there, like the The Fuel & Engine Bible, for example, which features a fascinating expose of the many so-called fuel saving devices. Definitely worth a bookmark.  Newer generation diesels start much less noisily but for the most…

Moka5 – infinite computers in your pocket

I’ve been playing with the new Moka 5 virtualisation software and it’s pretty cool. They call it ‘freedom computing’, but what they really mean is that you can install a Moka 5 ‘virtual’ computer to your iPod or USB drive, PC or whatever and then download and install any of a growing number of computer environments (called LivePCs) which are like small operating systems in a box. So for instance you can install the basic LivePC engine on a USB pen drive and then install Ubuntu or…

The Ale – fast, economical sportster concept

The Ale concept vehicle does 92 miles to the gallon, 0–60 in under 5 seconds and corners like a go-cart. Repeat this mantra – ‘three wheels good, four wheels bad’. The secret to the fuel economy comes from a new ‘fuel vapour system’ technology, which sounds interesting. Shame it only holds two passengers though. [Via Gizmag]  The car’s key innovation’s are the fuel vapor system and it’s light weight aerodynamic body. This fuel vapor technology (which is in the patent pending process) allows the…

Myhab – the waterproof, recyclable tent replacement

Dismayed by stories of 10,000 discarded tents at the Glastonbury rock festival, student James Dunlop has come up with the idea of the Myhab – ‘A recyclable habitat for two, made from waterproof cardboard and plastic.’ The idea is that you buy one from festival organisers for between £60 and £100, and they assemble it for you and dispose of it ecologically after you’ve gone home. No more waste. It has a secure locker inside for your valuables, can be personalised with your name…

Around $77.00 in Yen like.  Driver unnecessary plug & automatic operation recognition of play. High-speed scroll functional loading The usual mouse and operation method to differ, because the…
