URL Fixer – automatically corrects typos you make in your Firefox address bar

URL Fixer. Uber coder Chris Finke has produced a whizzo little Firefox extension which automatically corrects those annoying typos we all enter in the address bar from time to time. You know, .con, .ku, .prg… It’s a small step for man, but a giant leap for geek-kind. Nice one!  URL Fixer is an extension for Mozilla-based Web browsers that corrects typos in URLs that you enter in the address bar. For example, if you type google.con, it will correct it to…

The Motorboard 2000XR is not a scooter, it’s an electric ‘Personal Transportation Device’. A la Segway perhaps? HOMO AE4 Electric ATV – silky silent smooth

The HOMO AE4 Electric ATV is one of those craft that probably looks better than it sounds. If you see what we mean. However, 30 km range, 25kph and a 6 – 8 hour charge means it’s probably quite useful for herding the sheeps you’ve got down the end of the garden. Tags: electric+atv

Install Ubuntu Linux on your USB drive – Gutsy Gibbon gets some flash drive install love

But that’s all right because you’re a passivist vegan holistici rabbit nerd aren’t ya? $39.99.  Each unit has an ever-watchful motion sensor. The first line of defense is lovingly referred to…

The DIY Helicopter – man makes helicopters out of old cars and motorbikes, still alive too….

24 year old Mubarak Muhammad Abdullahi from Northern Nigeria builds helicopters out of spare parts in his back yard. These magnificent flying machines take him around 8 months to complete and are rudimentary to say the least. This yellow beast has never reached an altitude of more than 7 feet, which makes it less of a helicopter and more of a hovercraft by our reckoning. Still, he’s doing a lot better with his old Toyota and Honda parts than that…

The NanoTube Radio – world’s smallest AM radio debuts

Peter Burke and Chris Rutherglen of U.C. Irvine have built a carbon nanotube AM radio. The teeny tiny device is thousands of times thinner than a human hair, which means that we could soon all be listening to our tunes through our follicles. Well OK, maybe that’s a bit far fetched, but why not plait a whole Hi-Fi system into your eyebrows? No, fair enough, that’s pretty silly too. Take a look at the video and see if you can…
