Buddyfetch – the search engine for friends

Buddyfetch. Interesting new search engine which trawls social networking, IM and community sites to locate people who share the same tastes as you do. The idea is you can find friends from amongst the zillions of community users by entering your favourite hobbies and suchlike and the system will match you up instantly. The site covers just about every community out there, from the obvious ones like Facebook and Bebo to more obscure offerings such as Blurty and Vox. It even covers Skype, Youtube and Stumbleupon, which is what I call…

Multifunction Digital Solar Charger – charge, illuminate, check and rock out

This somewhat tawdry looking Multifunction Digital Solar Charger crams a lot of techno geekery into it’s cheap tacky plastic Shenzhen style body. As well as the obligatory gadget charging solar cells, we’re looking at an FM radio, LED flashlight and a handy UV bank note checker. Clearly our Chinese cousins are having a spot of bother with their currency in one way or another. Anyhoo, it’s all yours for a trifling $45.99, so have at it.  The Multifunctional Digital Solar…

T-Sketch T-Shirt – scribble your own messages on your clothing and get arrested

The T-Sketch T-Shirt is the latest in a long line of stupid-wear. Sure it sounds cool to be able to scribble illuminated messages on your chest like some majorly geekout warrior, but you’ll be the one crying when the first wash sees it go all wrinkled and shrunk and pathetic looking. Pah! £29.99.  Anything that’s drawn on the wipe-clean panel activates a glowing light beneath so that it lights up. You can also change the flashing sequence to suit your preference…

PedalPub – the self-propelled, community based refreshment hostelry

PedalPub. Derived from the Dutch FjetCafe, but definitely not to be confused with the CycleSeven conference bike. No alcohol while on the public highway, 16 passengers, 5 pedalling seats and a driver. Max speed 5 mph, avoid hills like the plague and don’t forget to bring along the $150.00 per hour rental fee. Have fun, crazy people!  Who should rent the PedalPub? Corporations for team building, group rewards, and promotions. A property management firm booked us for an ice cream…

Myfotowall – real wallpaper from your photos

Myfotowall converts your photographs into wallpaper to use in your home. It’s super clever blow-up tech of course, and with the right image really hits the spot, especially for commercial premises, but we’re talking a lot of money for the privilege. But hey, it’s art right?  We can print your digital photograph, up to a maximum of 1600% (16x) larger, then the original printable size, with no discernible loss in printed quality…The inks used to produce…

Clownsuits – search tools for hard to find files and stuff

Apparently there is now a growing class of online search tools called clownsuits. What are they? Search scripts that do an advanced Google search using specific parameters. Like Google Hacks but online. It’s basically a way to find ‘deep’ or ‘invisible’ web material like files and multimedia that generic searches miss. These tools are invariably nothing more than simple scripts which contain pointers to either specific file storage areas like FTP folders, or hosts like Rapidshare or social networks like MySpace. As with…

Pop Songs For Kids – happy clappy fun time frolics

My buddy Chris has just released his new Pop Songs For Kids CD and website. It’s great stuff and a fab gift for little tykes (or their parents!). I promised I’d make him a web superstar, and I can’t go back on my word. Oh and that reminds me, longtime Ferret reader Mandyleigh Storm’s new album is out too. You can find it at http://www.sellaband.com/shop/artist/mandyleigh/. Both sites have free MP3 tracks to listen to, so there’s no excuse. This has…
