Roll and Store Rolling Pin – What else would you do with the inside of a rolling pin

So it’s not quite the usual Red Ferret gadget faire, but I couldn’t resist. The Roll and Store Rolling Pin is made of clear acrylic and stores 9 plastic cookie cutters. It’s a 46cm rolling pin with silicone handles and the whole thing is dishwasher safe (except the handles). $AU18. The Roll and Store Pin is a rolling pin like no other. Sure, it’s a fantastic rolling pin but what makes it even cooler is the set of nine fun…

JPEGSnoop – has anyone messed about with that photo?

JPEGSnoop is a handy little freeware utility for examining image files to see if they’ve been tampered with or altered. It also provides a load of additional information including details on the type of editing program used and the quality level the edited JPEG image was saved as. The interface is crude, but all you need to do is scroll to the bottom of the page of results and check out the Assessment section. Nifty piece of software if you’ve ever wondered whether…

Midomi – search for your fave song by humming or singing to your computer

Midomi is a music search engine with a difference. Instead of just typing in your search term, you can hum it. Yes I know it’s been tried before, but surely this time it could actually work? Er nope. I sang a beautiful rendition of Good Vibrations at it and the first result was something called Ni Una Sola Palabra. Close. What’s worse is the list included Vincent, Starry Starry Night. I know I’ve got a dodgy voice but c’mon guys……

Portable Nuclear Power Stations – from the WT…? Dept

You’re kidding right? The Russians used to build portable nuclear power stations and drive them around the country? That is just too freaky for words. And they stopped using them after Chernobyl happened? No kidding? Flabbergasted!  Not many know, but Russian engineers have constructed the mobile nuclear power plants that were sucessfully used in distant parts of Russia. Those were small sized self moving fully functional atomic power plants with a small reactor inside. Just imagine, small nuclear power plants…
