ECO Motor EMC3 Commuter – three wheels on my wagon…

The Eco Motor Company EMC3 Commuter is a three wheeled vehicle which will achieve 60 mpg, seat two people and features a 1000 cc engine. It will also, for some strange reason, cost you nearly $14,000 to buy, which seems a little savage considering you’re paying for one less wheel. But what do we know?  The EMC3 Commuter has a strong, nimble body with a compact, yet powerful, engine that achieves two to five times more miles per gallon than most…

NDroid – cool freeware program launcher makes Windows fly

NDroid is a cool program launcher and search tool which speeds up repetitive tasks in Windows via a hotkey and text function. Just hit the hotkey to fire up the dialogue box, enter text in the search area and the action you want (e.g. start typing movie and you’ll get movie reviews from IMDB) and hit enter and the utility will fire up the program, website or Windows function you need. It has a similar feel to my favourite Launchy, but…

The Music Industry – where lawyers=winners and artists=losers

So how does this work again? Let’s see. Between 2006 and 2008 the US record industry paid over $64 million in legal and investigative fees, and recovered a grand total of $1.3 million from file sharers. Wow, that’s an amazingly astute business model. We’re talking spending $17 million in 2008 alone, to recover $391,000 in penalties. Small wonder, then, that for every $1000 of music sold, the average musician makes just $23.40…tops. The industry clearly needs to grab as much money as…

SD Explorer – freeware lets you manage 25 GB of free Windows Live space

I only just –  d’oh –  realised that Microsoft is giving away 25 GB of free storage space called SkyDrive on any Live! account, so if you’ve got a Hotmail account lying around, go grab it. You’ll find it under the More… menu at the top of the screen. SD Explorer takes this very generous offer and turns it into something truly useful. The freeware basically gives you full access to your SkyDrive folders as if they were local, by integrating with Windows Explorer on your…

Old Spice – probably the greatest viral internet campaign ever

You know I don’t usually like adding to the noise, but this new Old Spice viral ad and marketing campaign is just too delicious to miss. The whole thing revolves around ex NFL pro footballer Isaiah Mustafa and a team of comedy writers who are amazing. I won’t say any more except to mention that taking the ad and making it into a Twitter response medium is nothing short of brilliant. I wonder if it had anything to do with…
