AudioDraft – crowdsource your next music need

AudioDraft is a new crowdsourced music service, which helps musicians hook up with those who need custom music tracks. Anyone can post a request (or contest) for some music, which musicians can bid for. The buyer sets the license terms (exclusivity and duration) and the prize fee, and then gets to select and rate the best entries. Once a winner is chosen, the fee is paid to the lucky musician and the buyer gets their music to use as specified. It’s a clever adaptation of the current…

Flying F160 Quad SIM Phone – world’s first 4 SIM card cell phone

This Flying F160 is the world’s first Quad SIM card, quad standby mobile phone. Quite why you’d need four SIM cards in your phone is another matter, although I suppose for permanent travellers this could save a bunch of time swapping out cards when you cross a border. The rest of the spec is pretty so-so, with a 2 inch touchscreen, TV & FM radio, 0.3 mp camera and a choice of colors. Priced, however, at a very reasonable $75.00 unlocked….

USB MinoCam Webcam II – small, portable, simple plug and play…

Just got me one of these USB MinoCam Webcam II things, and it’s actually surprisingly good. The image quality is excellent, but there again the packaging does say it’s got a light sensitivity of 0.6 lux (i.e less than a candle) and 8 megapixel resolution. I’m not sure I believe the latter (probably interpolated up from 5 mp or something), but the results are cool. The other neat thing is the twisty camera head, which means you can straighten up…

15 (almost but not quite) iPad Clones for Apple Haters

Here you go. 15 iPad Clones for Apple Haters. They’re almost totally horrible, but it’s a fun game to play right?  I love the functionality my iPac gives me…But I don’t like the inflated prices or the quasi-cult forming around the Apple brand. I’m not alone… so to appease the other half of me, the part that HATES Apple, manufacturers are marketing questionable (read: illegal) iPad knockoffs.
