Canon’s X Mark I Mouse boasts impressive calculating features

Just the other day I was working on my computer, doing important things, when I needed to do a quick calculation. I like to do simple math in my head when I can, but I was dealing with some large numbers, and it was crucial that I didn’t make any mistakes. Naturally, I did what any smart person would do, and started hunting around my office for a calculator. After a good while, I realized that of all my gadgets,…

Bean Bag Sled makes for a smooth ride

If there is one thing that winter brings that summer can’t touch, it’s the ability to slide down hills at high speeds, without needing anything terribly complicated. Okay, maybe you can do it on a bike, but that’s not the point. Especially since if you wreck, there’s no fluffy snow to break your fall. Want to make sledding even more safe? Do it on a bean bag.

Use Image Zoom to rotate and zoom images within Firefox

Have you ever been browsing the internet and come across an image that you wanted to look at from a different direction? Maybe it’s just a photo that was taken at a weird angle and you want to rotate it. You can turn your head, but that’s not quite the same. So what do you do? You download the image, then open it, and rotate. Then once you’ve seen it, you delete it. While it only takes a few seconds…

YumBots make your boring cupcakes look awesome

If you know me for very long, you’ll find out that I love cake. At least once a month, I’ll make one for myself. I’m more than happy to share it with anyone who stops by, as I think the world is a better place when there’s cake. Of course, there is one thing better than cake, and that’s a cupcake. After all, you can take it anywhere, and you don’t need a fork. But how do you improve on…

Treshr – find free stuff online…for free

Treshr is a kind of mashup between Craigslist, Google Maps and Freecycle, and offers a place where you can find stuff people are giving away. Cute name apart (dig for treshr, geddit?) the app is actually quite neat, although I do wish the search was more global and not confined to a location. I suspect this is just because there’s very little material on there at the moment, which makes finding a hand embroidered gold taffeta doily a tad difficult. But stick to San…
