2012 iMac is looking rather trim

Ah yes, the iMac. Extravagant, beautiful, expensive, and really awesome for work. While gamers won’t necessarily use this as their main rig(because games are hardly ever Mac-compatible), this is a really wonderful computer. We got to see one new goodie from Apple the other day, and now we’re going to take a look at the new iMac.

The 2012 iMac is the thinnest one to date, measuring at only 5 mm thick. Its screen is 75% less reflective, and each iMac is color-calibrated to make sure you get as close to the real thing as possible. This will use 50% less energy than its predecessors, and it has a 3rd-gen quad-core i5 processor which can clock up to 3.2GHz. You can configure it with an i7, and that will bump you up to 3.4GHz. The innards are also sporting NVIDIA Kepler Graphics Architecture, so anything you see is going to be almost more than crystal clear. There’s the 21.5-inch option that releases in November that will start at around $1300, and the 27-inch that will hit in December for about $1800.
