WhichAirline – superb new service makes global flight search a pleasure not a chore

Two years ago a small startup called Hipmunk turned the flight search world upside down by introducing a new and painless way to hunt for cheap flight deals. It was simple, elegant and offered some great deals. Well the fallout continues, and this weeks sees the launch of a fresh rival which aims to follow the same super easy, graphical interface for flight search.

Tubalr – this new free music streaming service is elegant and cool

So another day, another music streaming service, but this time it’s been done with a little style. Tubalr.com is a brand new service which like so many others grabs its music from the massive YouTube catalog. However, unlike many of these rival services, this one doesn’t clutter up the screen with advertising or other fluff. It’s clean, it’s fast and the results are impressive.

Retimer will help you stay up and at ’em!

This is it folks. We’re heading into the winter months. Seeing as we can’t hibernate, this is our main time to work on projects around the house, or play games for hours on end because it’s too cold to go outside. Those of you who are used to a lot of sunlight will probably get a little down in the dumps, because of Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. If you want to offset those feelings, you can go a couple…

Pyle Steampunk Home Telephone brings in an antique look with a modern touch

Everything we use is technologically advanced, and if it’s not, you can bet we’re saving up our pennies to make it that way. So much of what we use nowadays is sleek and streamlined, that it makes you miss the clunky equipment from yesteryear. Telephones have changed a lot since their invention, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate that original flair.

Always remember to stop and smell…the USB Tulip Stick Humidifier

Have you ever needed a humidifier? Sure you have! It gets cold and dry in the winter, or you get sick and need a little help dealing with congestion. These things are inexpensive, and can be used with oils to make your home or office smell fragrant as well as having the proper amount of humidity. It seems silly to pay more when you get less, but that’s why you start calling things “designer”. They are higher quality products, but…

Scrabble Flash Cubes – the iconic word game gets a digital makeover

Scrabble, the venerable word game, is an awesome game for passing time with friends and family. The mental jousting and air of superiority of those with a bit more of a flair for vocabulary is a joy to watch, as are the sulks and angry stares as someone is humiliated over an obscure word once again. But the problem with board games is they’re not very portable, which makes this clever digital version an interesting alternative.

NAVFree GPS Navigation – free turn by turn navigation for your Android phone with no data downloads [Freeware]

Google is the undisputed master of all things to do with maps, and their GPS navigation software is likewise top of the roost. It’s fast, incredibly detailed and offers the kind of global coverage that most companies (Apple?) can only dream of. But there is one big problem with it. If you are roaming abroad it sucks up data when downloading new map tiles en route, which can turn out very expensive. On a recent trip to Europe I was…

Aixam Coupe S – 40 km/h, 95 mpg, is this the future of urban transportation?

In the movie Idiocracy, there are numerous scenes showing the state of road transportation in the year 2050, and none of it is encouraging. Forget fancy robot or flying cars, it looks like the best the future will be able to muster are glorified golf carts. Since many people revere the cult film as akin to a documentary, this could be cause for depression, so we thought we’d add to the jolity.

360 Degree Rotating Extension Cord helps you with those hard to reach places

If you need more outlets, a power strip will normally be your first choice. What if the only outlet you have available is behind a bookcase or dresser? You can either move your furniture a bit so that it juts out an inch or two and looks a bit “off”, or you can get a flat plug extension cable to put things where they need to be without causing any fuss. However, angling them just right can get to be…

Analog Dial Flip Clock doesn’t sweat the small stuff

Having to work in a room with a ticking clock can sometimes be the most annoying thing on the planet. Normally, this is on a day that you’re really behind on work, don’t feel well, and just want the day to be over. Every tick is a poignant and crude reminder that only seconds are passing, and not hours. The hash marks or numbers for the time only add to this busy display. On those days, you probably wish you…

Magnetic Magic Finger – so many uses, so little time

There are some things which are clearly sent to us by the Great Mechanic In The Sky. Things which are so gorgeously, obviously ‘right’, that their purpose is almost secondary. Such a tool is the Magnetic Magic Finger, an implement of such sublime design and intent that we’ll be reaching for the credit card just as soon as we finish working out how we can use the darn thing.
