Undercover Tablet Sleeve keeps your tablet under wraps

It’s nice to have your tablet handy to read a book or get some work done. However, carrying it out in the open on a bus or train might make you a bit paranoid (it’s just a several hundred dollar piece of equipment that can easily be stolen or broken, what’s the big deal?).  You can always carry a bag of some sort, but that exposes your glass surface to all the sharp and pointy objects in there. If you’d…

NoClean Aquarium is nifty, and nothing more

Having a pet fish always seems so appealing when you’re a kid. Although, that’s around the first time that you realize the responsibility that comes with caring for another living creature. They need food, water, proper heat, and their habitat needs a good cleaning every once in a while. There are all types of fish tanks out there. Some can go longer without the need for a wash, and others can go without one altogether.

Fighting Man Frying Pan: hand to pan combat

Making an epic dinner is no easy task. There are cooking temperatures to be wary of, the freshness of your ingredients to factor in, and not to mention that timing is everything. It feels like every aspect is an enemy, just waiting to make your meal average. If you want to show your dinner who’s boss, you’re going to need the weaponry to do it.

Emitips make your favorite gloves smartphone compatible

Everyone loves using their smartphones, but not many of us like operating them outside when it’s freezing cold. For one thing, it’s a real hassle having to take our gloves off, stuff them into a pocket and then get on with the phone, then shuffle about retrieving the gloves without getting frostbite…you get the picture. And these special smartphone gloves are fine, but what happens if they’re not to our taste?

USB Mini HEPA Air Purifier – keeping your surroundings clean and fresh one molecule at a time

If you spend your life sitting in front of a computer (who, me?) you’ll know how important it is for your environment to be just right. A nice comfy chair? Check. A suitably ergonomic desk height and keyboard mouse layout? Check. Proper lighting? Check. But what about another, probably even more important factor, namely the quality of the air you’re breathing in as you work?

FastStone Image Viewer – the best tool for managing your photos. Period. [Freeware]

There’s a ton of image viewers out there, some great others not so. Some of the most famous include IrfanView which has been around for donkey’s years, and other less well known but popular programs such as ACDSee Photo, which is also not a bad tool. We recently had urgent need of a photo viewer, editor and manager utility, and having hunted around for ages, found one which beat the others hands down in terms of features, power and sophistication.

The Smartphone is 20 years old today…woot for the birthday boy. What’s in store for the next 20 years?

The smartphone is 20 years old today, and that thing above is the original item. Happy Birthday! Released in November of 1993, the IBM Simon Personal Communicator combined a cellular phone, a PDA and a touchscreen in a brick like shape that sure wouldn’t win any design awards today. The device was based on an earlier IBM prototype called the Angler, which could not only send emails and make calls but also send and receive fax messages. How times change…

Logitech Harmony Touch is the remote you’ve been dreaming of

Long ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, we had remotes that weren’t very complicated, and there were only a few channels to choose from on the tube. Nowadays, you have three remotes, hundreds of channels, and need to remember the combination of buttons to hit and numbers to push to watch a single show. While the chaos is only going to get worse from here, the remote can at least be simplified to control everything.

Moxie Showerhead brings singing in the shower to a whole new level

For whatever reason, listening to music while you’re taking a shower or bath makes things more peaceful and relaxing. When you take a bath, your only task is to be stationary, so it’s not hard to listen to your tunes. However, showers mean cranking up the volume since you will have to compete with the rushing water, and you’ll be putting a shower curtain between you and the sound source. Instead of trying to blow out your speakers, why not…

Air Mail Launcher will get your message across

It seems funny that we all talk to each other more through texting and chats than we do in day-to-day life. There are also those times where we’re two feet away from each other, and start talking through an electronic device rather than just whispering to one another. If you and your coworkers often find a text format to be the best way to communicate, then you know how much fun it can be to leave stickie notes all over…

Humanix iSAVE Electric Car looks after pedestrians, your bank balance and the planet

A bunch of wonderfully insane clever quirky chaps in Japan have come up with a solution to all our road traffic accident problems. The one where we regularly kill off the population of a small town every year through bad, unlucky or plain stupid driving mistakes. They’ve decided to ignore the high tech solutions like self-driving or radar equipped vehicles and instead have gone for the most basic, obvious solution of all. Genius or madmen?

Netatmo Urban Weather Station – the climate nerd gadget for Apple lovers [Review]

Chances are you have a grandpa/father/uncle that watches The Weather Channel for endless hours. They forget that it is used for snippets of information on the environment and choose to make it a integral portion of the daily entertainment. If you happen to be visiting them you may get caught up in an endless loop of small tidbits of weather conditions with promises of future forecasts. It’s boring, it’s tedious, it’s un-informative and makes you want to jump off a…
