Find That File is a new file search engine which doesn’t just track down web based documents and files, but also digs deep into the bowels of what they call the ‘dark web’ to try and deliver even more useful stuff. You might think that Google does this already, but it’s amazing how often other results come up on the Google page when you do a search for a specific file.

Wikipedia Zero – sending knowledge out to the world via SMS
We had no idea that the Wikipedia Foundation offers the encyclopedia’s knowledge free of charge to the world, via the Wikipedia Zero initiative. The idea is for the Foundation to partner with mobile phone operators and avoid people having to pay data charges for the information. It’s obviously targeted to people in the developing countries, who don’t have access to hardware, services and funds to pay for Internet access.

Flying is a quick way to get to a faraway destination, but it’s not exactly the most comfortable. If you’re stuck with a long flight, you might fancy a nap, but those neck pillows are nothing but a future crick in your neck. You can try to mush your head against the wall or person next to you, but turbulence or awkwardness might ruin that right quick.
Read MoreBirdie Swing Tea Infuser – It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing
We all like a good cuppa, and thankfully there are a myriad of them out there! If you’re a fan of loose leaf tea in particular though, then you’re no stranger to tea infusers. There are thousands of different ways to get the job done, and they all give the same result. However, what kind of infuser can give you a delicious beverage and provide you a new little friend?
Read MoreTime Timer – It’s time inception
When you want something to be over, you can’t help but look at the clock every three seconds. Nothing has changed in the past few seconds, but you’re now more aware of the incessant ticking that is surely going to drive you to crazy-town. You don’t want to chuck the clock out the window, but if you had to focus less on numbers but still had a visual cue, I’d imagine that would make things much easier.
Read MoreiTap – so actually your phone charger doesn’t really have to be that boring, OK?
This little gizmo comes directly from the ‘obvious novelty is obvious‘ department, without passing Go. And when you think about it, it’s clear isn’t it? Why should we have to suffer dull boring white or grey block chargers, when there are so many options we could choose? Like Edam Cheese or Snickers bars? When you open your mind up to the possibilities, an endless vista stretches before you, like the sands of Mortlake Village.

Riddle me this: What’s the single most useful, and at the same time most maddening, thing in the whole world? No, not hot wet-wipes, we’re talking email. It’s crucial to our lives and yet a massive burden too. Over the years we’ve tried numerous ways to improve things, including email abstinence (doesn’t work), filters, rigid routines and worse, and failed to make even a tiny dent in our message overload.

There’s no question that power is getting more expensive by the day. We use an unbelievable amount of fuel of all sorts to generate vital electricity to power our lives, and the costs of supply are rising like a hot air balloon. Which is why the new invention of an enterprising young German could spell the beginning of a new era of ‘power piracy’.

No one wants to do laundry. You have to separate the colors, worry about drying it for too long, fabric softener, and which clothes shouldn’t go in the dryer. Instead of being annoyed at the task at hand, why not take it out on the perpetrator? That’s right, your laundry.

Those of us who spend any time traveling realize that there are few decisions in life as important as deciding what you pack into your carry-on bag. Of course there are life decisions that are more important – who you are going to marry, your major in college, and of course what TYPE of bag you will use for holding all of your carry-on goodies.
Read MoreOxijet – a new way to shower with lots of water pressure but less water
Low-flow shower heads have almost become a staple here in the US. With water tables rapidly dropping and a devastating continued drought in the Midwest, conserving water is a must. But the downside of this is that showering is no longer a refuge for water pleasantly beating down on you. That’s something many of us miss. New Zealand company Felton, in collaboration with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), has developed the Oxijet. The “air shower” showerhead uses…

Making hard boiled eggs has always taken plenty of time, lots of water and uses loads of energy. I’ve always wondered if someone could come up with a better, more efficient way of doing this. Someone has. Eggxactly, a cool little device designed by British inventor James Seddon, features two stretchable silicone heating elements – one on each side of the egg – that are said to transfer heat to the egg very efficiently. The soft elements reportedly conform…
