If there is one class of products which has us quite confused, it’s the electronic door lock and key. For one thing, they tend to be as ugly as sin, and for another just as expensive. They also seem to be rather insecure and worse, vulnerable to power or battery failure.

Here’s the thing about mices. They’re either mind-numbingly boring. Or they’re not. You either pick one up, use it and get your web browsing done efficiently and cleanly, or you switch it on, kick back and let the day waft past in a haze of Justin Bieber.

Hard core computer users will know that one of the problems that comes with the territory is the risk of suffering from wrist or arm ache from all the mouse actions that get done in a day. Web browsing is one of the main culprits, as we scroll, pan and generally swoop our way through a web session.

The days when you could reasonably expect a bit of peace and quiet in the garden are long fading. Not only are you vulnerable to radio controlled tanks, cars and fake garden gnomes, but you’ve also got to keep constant lookout for flying instruments designed to make your life a misery.

Wood is good. Wood is clean, functional, living, smooth and much less boring than plastic. For some weird reason it also goes very well together with technology, maybe the contrast between the traditional and the modern?
