3D Mailbox – the SIMS + GMail = a fun weird spam (b)eating email service

3DMail

3D Mailbox is definite proof that Robert Savage is either a genius or a fruitcake. For the record Robert is the creator of Visitorville, the 3D web stats program which shows site visitors as 3D avatars arriving to a site on buses labeled Google, Yahoo! or other referrers etc.

Anyhoo, he’s at it again. This time with a downloadable email program that turns your messages into 3D SIMS-like people arriving at a Miami pool resort. The messages…er…people are checked by a bouncer and the spam messages are literally sent to be eaten by sharks, while your real messages enter the resort and hang around waiting for you to read them. Sound weird? You betcha.

There’s a free for life version and a no-watermark $29.95 version, as well as new scenarios in the pipeline if Miami doesn’t do it for you. Robert, I think it’s probably genius. It’s certainly different and could be quite a bit of fun.

3D Mailbox delivers a fantastic, smarter e-mail experience. Immerse yourself in 3-D as you read and write your mail. Relax to the sounds of the ocean, seagulls, and cool tunes. Hang with your mail poolside, or feed your spam to the sharks! Deleting spam is so much fun, you may wish you had more!

  • I vote FruitCake…

I reviewed it on BrainDonkey A few weeks ago when I discovered it, because I just really couldn’t pass it up. I figured it would be a total waste of bits, but figured it might be good for a giggle… Though the spam/shark thing is a bit satisfying the first time. The lack of interactivity is what really puts it in the WTF pile.
