The 3rd i Security Service. Snappy name for a 3G security service which uses wireless 3G connected cameras to let you keep a video watch on your home or other location via your handset when you’re out and about. Unfortunately the Iris cameras they’re relying on appear to be vapourware so far.
3rd-i cameras can detect when an intruder has entered your home using infrared and motion sensors. When an alarm is triggered on your camera the 3rd-i control centre sends you a text message alert. You can then look at a recording of the event that triggered the camera or see what’s happening even if your phone is switched off when the alert is sent to you, video of the event is stored at the 3rd-i control centre for up to 30 days so you can look at it when it’s most convenient for you.
