Adicate – web advertising booked by the hour

On the face of it the new Adicate hourly web advertising service looks really interesting. Advertisers register, log on and create ads which they run in hourly timeslots on publisher sites. Great idea no? Small advertisers can run limited length campaigns to get their message across and web sites can attract more small advertisers. Everyone wins. What’s a bit weird are the terms of service, and I can only assume that it’s some sort of Norwegian thing. For one thing,…

Sky Cycle – the scariest ride in the world?

The Sky Cycle. Take one rickety looking pedal cart thing, attach it to an impossibly high and very thin track, strap people into it with a single seat belt and you’ve got the recipe for what looks like the worst experience on earth. And lets not talk about wind, shall we? PS. I suspect the pretty pink baskets on the handlebars are to catch your heart when it literally thumps its way out of your chest. [Thanks Daniel] Tags: sky+cycle, funfair+ride

Star Wars Chubbies – huh?

Star Wars Chubbies. Er…what is there to say about this bizarre Russo/US toy collectible mashup? Nothing probably. From £7.95.  There are currently six dolls to collect and most show the evolution of their character, so Darth Vader opens up to reveal Episode III Anakin, who in turn opens up to reveal that annoying twerp from Episode I; Alec Guinness era Obi Wan opens up to reveal the bearded Jedi from Episode III, who in turn contains the fresh faced young…

Automatic Asparagus Peeler – weird alien craft alert

I’ve got to say that I can’t even begin to get my head around the technology needed to develop an automatic asparagus peeling machine. And what genius engineer got up one morning and said, ‘I know, let’s build something that will automatically peel asparagus for the world?’ And that video doesn’t help my head either! Sheesh!  Machine Feature: 1?The machine is totally automatic, with reliable performance. 2?Capacity is 85~100 pcs per min. 3?Peeling efficiency is controlled between 78%~85% 4?Power saving,…

The Cable Tidy Docking Box – are we near April 1st?

The Contento Docking Box. OK John, so let’s go over it again. You’ve invented a cable management system which is what? A box with a strip taken out of the side? Uh-huh. And you just throw the plug strip into the box and trail a cable out of the box to the socket? Riiight. Oh and they come in nice pastel colours too, huh? Great. OK dude, thanks a bunch. We’ll be in touch. Mind your head on the way out. Next! Tags:…

TwitterVision – more silliness from the Twittering classes

TwitterVision. There’s two types of people. Them that like Twitter and them – like us – what don’t understand what all the fuss is about. Anyhoo, for the former, here’s a bit of Google Map mashup fun with Twitter that’ll really get your mojo going. Real time Twitters from across the globe displayed live and geo-tagged for your funsome frolics. Strangely enough it’s somewhat compelling viewing. Tags: twitter, twittervision

Cubisto – frame your fave gadgets in plastic for posterity

Cubisto is one of those truly weird ideas. A sort of 3D frame into which you can insert items and frame them for ever. Kind of like pressing flowers. Only without the flower. Or the book. Why anyone would want to frame their mobile phone is something of a mystery that we’ll never solve, but hey, your mileage – and bizarro ratio – might vary. £14.95.  The idea is to sandwich your nick-nacks (no sniggering at the back!) between the two sheets…

Breath Capture – creepy memento time

Breath Capture. Hmm…not sure what to make of this one. The company sells a range of glass tubes – as pendants, bracelets, earrings etc – which can hold the breath of a loved one as a keepsake. We’re kind of creeped out by this for some reason which we can’t explain. Anyway we’re probably being silly, so you go ahead and breath or wear as you see fit, peeps. Priced at around $9.00 for a pendant.  Breath Capture is a…

Pet Spa – the critter washer

The Pet Spa. A mind boggling concept, a washing machine for your moggie or pooch. It just reeks of class, does it not? Oh and it’s not to be confused with the Whirlpool Jentle Pet, OK? If you need to know just how great an idea this is, watch the video of a poor cat put inside one of these things by its owners. Sheesh! [via Presurfer]  Hydro-muscular massage and bath in California’s first Pet Spa, a totally automatic cabin that…

Spokeo – meta community madness

Spokeo. A kind of meta community portal where you gather together all the social networking content from your friends and family in one easy to browse location. I’ve got to say I’m not really sure I understand it, but what do I know?   * Organize your friends’ blogs, photos and videos from different websites and social networks. * Recommend your favorite content, or easily read your friends’ recommended content. * Simplify your online social life.

First Act GarageMaster Guitar

The First Act GarageMaster Guitar. Well we’ve heard of rocking the boat, but rocking the four door sedan? Huh? So the idea is that you plug this free guitar into your brand new VW Golf, Beetle or Rabbit audio system and gig your way into your neighbour’s heart. Perhaps the marketing genius who came up with this one should think about taking a bit of a break, preferably somewhere quiet and secluded?  The key to the guitar’s unique design is a…
