Bobble Hot Travel Mug will let you see how much fuel you’ve got left

While I really enjoy the plethora of thermoses that I have, they all carry a similar problem. I can’t see how much I have left. Surely there are those of you out there who have had to unscrew the cap to see if there was any fuel left for the morning. There are only two reactions for that situation: surprise, or sadness. Imagine what it would be like to have a travel mug that would not only keep your drink…

Are the outdoors calling your name? If blazing trails and running from bears is your idea of fun, then you’re going to need gear that can stand all the rough and tumble situations you may face. While your tent and backpack are important, your phone is your safety net if anything should happen to you in the wild, and most phones are fairly delicate things.

PaperKit – free printable grid paper for all [Freeware]

Graphing or grid paper is one of those hidden treasures that you never realize you’re going to need, until you need it. Sure if you’re a scientific type, student or a mathematician then you’re clearly friends with the stuff, but the fact is that it can be used in lots of places where you wouldn’t obviously think of it. Think about sketching, designing, drawing a plan or a map, just about any place where you need accurate scaleable illustrations.

StoPower Power Plug Lock – don’t play the day away

There was once a time when television and video games didn’t exist. That’s a little hard to imagine in this day and age, but there was a lot more playing outside and running around for kids. Nowadays you’ll need a crow bar to pry them away from a screen. When one form of entertainment stops existing, kids will make up a new one. If you want them to chill out from the tube, there is a way to prevent them…

How to cure those annoying audio sync problems after editing smartphone video [Freeware]

If you’ve ever tried to edit and upload smartphone video to YouTube, you may have noticed that the audio and video can go out of sync. This is especially noticeable with handsets like the Samsung Galaxy range, and even iPhones we hear. Apparently the reason this happens is because the phone people use such wacky compression to maximize memory card storage space that it breaks normal video editors instantly, even the more sophisticated ones like Adobe’s Premiere Elements Pro.

NDuR Advanced Portable Filtration Bottle will work ’round the globe

Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink. It seems a bit sad that we have to rely on bottled water or whatever comes from the tap. Even then, there are parts of the world where drinking from the faucet isn’t exactly a great idea. If you want to make sure you can always get a drink no matter where you are, then having some way to filter water would be of use.

OK, answer this question. Garmin Fenix Hiking GPS Watch – know where you’re going and also where you’ve been

Not everyone spends their life traveling around safe and snug in the plush seats of a car, some daring souls actually venture out and walk, run or bike their way from place to place. And these people sometimes also need help finding their way around, just like motorists. Sure they can use a map, but they get wet and soggy, and maps are not great for logging your trip so you can see where you’ve been.

Should I Remove It – helps you decide which programs you should uninstall [Freeware]

If you’re like most people, you’ll have a ton of software installed on your computer that you’ve accumulated over the years. You see programs are rather like socks. You obtain them from various sources over the years, use them and then they lie forgotten in your bottom drawer (or hard disk folders) for ever more or until you upgrade computers. Whichever comes first.

Time Timer – It’s time inception

When you want something to be over, you can’t help but look at the clock every three seconds. Nothing has changed in the past few seconds, but you’re now more aware of the incessant ticking that is surely going to drive you to crazy-town. You don’t want to chuck the clock out the window, but if you had to focus less on numbers but still had a visual cue, I’d imagine that would make things much easier.

EmailTray – cool free email program controls those message overload blues [Freeware]

Riddle me this: What’s the single most useful, and at the same time most maddening, thing in the whole world? No, not hot wet-wipes, we’re talking email. It’s crucial to our lives and yet a massive burden too. Over the years we’ve tried numerous ways to improve things, including email abstinence (doesn’t work), filters, rigid routines and worse, and failed to make even a tiny dent in our message overload.

Eggxactly – a cool energy saving way to boil eggs perfectly…without water

Making hard boiled eggs has always taken plenty of time, lots of water and uses loads of energy. I’ve always wondered if someone could come up with a better, more efficient way of doing this. Someone has.   Eggxactly, a cool little device designed by British inventor James Seddon, features two stretchable silicone heating elements – one on each side of the egg – that are said to transfer heat to the egg very efficiently. The soft elements reportedly conform…

It’s a funny thing, software. Sometimes it’s not the prettiest of products which work the best, nor even the ones with the best marketing, but instead it’s a surprise coming out of left field, which manages to deliver amazing functionality with no fancy interface and zero marketing.
