Men’s Housework Timer – chauvinist maybe, funny probably…

The Men’s Housework Timer is designed to encourage the male of the species to slouch into the kitchen and do their fair share of the work. Flip the timer upside down as they start donning the yellow glovies and they keep going till it runs out of sand. Smart idea. £6.99. [Psst…small thing. The thing has been calibrated to last precisely 3 seconds! Don’t tell]  We can all picture the scene; (Man) is comfortably sitting on the sofa, mug of…

They’re made of felt, come in a bunch of understandably complicated sizes, there are two sets of feet after all, and are 95 for delivery from Finland. Of course it may all hinge on whether Dad can dance … The most endearing result of their efforts, Dance Shoes for the Father and Daughter came from a Finnish felt factory. These…

Breakfast on the Bridge – turfing the coathanger

Just a quick plug for my home town, Sydney. There’s an October-length festival going on here at the moment called Crave, celebrating all things great about living in Sydney including food. As part of the festivities, the Sydney Harbour Bridge was closed for 12 hours on Sunday morning and 10,000m of turf was laid across it temporarily for the inaugural Breakfast on the Bridge event. Not bad considering it’s over a kilometer in length. Around 6,000 randomly selected people enjoyed…

Tauntaun Sleeping Bag – This time it’s for reals

I admit, I got done on April Fool’s Day this year with ThinkGeek’s Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, it looked so darn real. They might have done the joke a little too well however as they quickly announced that it may yet be manufactured. Now, 6 months later, behold the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag. It’s not available yet but they’re arriving in November. Add your name and form an orderly queue behind your 10 year old and no pushing please. [Via Gizmodo] ATTN…

Solitaire Olive Bowl – you’ve got to earn your nibbles

Long before Solitaire came along, there was Solitaire, but it was still lacking something. Eatability! Now there’s the Solitaire Olive Bowl. Made of ceramic, comes with instructions on how to play and there’s even a spot for the seeds. Those of a non-olive eating disposition may substitute Maltesers. Hey wait, I just thought of really good drinking game. Jump an olive, remove it from the board but instead of eating it, plonk it in a Martini shot and drink. Probably…
