The Cart Whisperer – Verisign viral video tickles

Liberty Fillmore, Cart Whisperer. Well it made me laugh.  The VeriSign campaign is aimed at highlighting the pain companies experience as they try to understand why consumers fill online shopping carts, only to abandon them before buying. In the face of an uncertain economy, online retailers are clamoring to find ways to turn shoppers into buyers. At stake are hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenues lost to abandoned carts. BuzzShed. Oh yes, here we go again. Sign up for this doozy and get paid 30c to watch various videos. And to make it feel more at home, there’s a nice Digg-like voting scheme in place to push videos up or down the rankings. Ah well, it sure beats working for a living. Well actually it doesn’t, but that’s another story, eh?  And now for the twist! BuzzShed is more than just social bookmarking for videos. Some BuzzShed members are in fact advertisers that pay…

Video Job Shop – video resumes and job offers wander online, hmm…

VideoJobShop. Video resumes and job offers online. Hmm…not sure what to say about this. Is video the best way to advertise for jobs or try and get one? Not sure. Most of the job offer footage is basic stock stuff from company promos, and the video resumes seem to be rather…um…awkward. For a fun few minutes though, check out the spokesperson resume videos from the Arts and Media section. This video in particular deserves to get some star treatment on YouTube. Hoot! [Thanks Alan]….

Free television shows – wanna shift your viewing from the couch to the Aeron?

See I’m beginning to understand what you want. And what you want is to watch your fave TV programs on the laptop when you’re away from the den/couch/living room or any other traditional viewing position. So here you go, a small rash of online television services for you to experiment with. TV Duck. Well what can you say? A bunch of links to popular and less well known television shows collated from around the net. Playback performance is predictably patchy, but you may be…

Joost gets Paramount UK – Trekkies rejoice…

Heck yeah, Joost has just launched a Paramount UK movie channel, which is the first really ‘mainstream’ content they’ve featured. Trekkies will be delighted to know that they can now watch their old stuff for free, and at amazingly good quality considering it’s streaming live. I’m beginning to think that Joost may do to television what Skype is doing to the telephone industry. Astonishing! Tags: joost, movies, online+television
