The eero – an easy to install home Wi-Fi system

So the worst thing that can possibly happen is playing on online only game and your Wi-Fi drops off. Guess you were done with that raid then. Or when you’re trying to binge watch something and you’re buffering every 3 minutes. Not cool. The eero is a Wi-Fi system for your home to help keep you from suffering these injustices.

TV White Spaces – otters, meerkats and the future technology behind a real internet of things

The world needs more wireless. There are just too many applications and products chasing too little spectrum space. And the biggest challenges are yet to come, as more and more machines start to ‘talk’ directly to each other as part of their functions. Which is why various countries have been looking at ways to provide more bandwidth for these services. The most promising is TV White Space, the unused portion of the TV spectrum which used to be occupied by…

Strati – world’s first 3D printed car gets its first drive out

A tiny bit of history was probably made a few weeks ago when the world’s first 3D printed car was driven out in public for the first time. Of course when we say 3D printed, we mean the bodywork and interior etc, not the motor, suspension or other metallic parts. That would be rather difficult right now. But maybe not in a few years or so?

Cheetah Bot – say hello to the new all electric, running jumping pet of the future

Oh it may not look like much right now, but pretty soon you’re going to start seeing properly clothed versions of these…ahem…puppies scooting around town behind their owners, no question. It’s just a matter of getting the batteries right we reckon. MIT Cheetah Bot is a research project at MIT to develop an autonomous robot ‘creature’, rather like the original and rather scary LS3 ‘dog’ from Boston Dynamics.

BelayCords – the USB game changer with a lifetime guarantee

Our world is powered by USB. And by world I really just mean ‘phone’ which is probably the same thing. Having a few spare phone chargers is common practice but I’ve got one to show you that will become your dedicated cord for everything. The BelayCord is the USB charger cable that will change your life. No really!

Qwerkywriter USB Typewriter – bring a touch of vintage to your modern machine

Something like a year ago there was this too cool to be true typewriter like attachment for iPads. It was actually too cool to be true in that it was a concept, but since so many people (yours truly included) loved the idea Qwerkytoys has created the Qwerkywriter USB Typewriter for all of your retro vintage needs.

Tera – The Tech Mat That Turns Yoga Into Twister

Yoga is one of the most relaxing physical activities in existence. They have a pose that is literally just lying down. You can’t get much more relaxed than that. But it can be a very active practice too, which Lunar Europe has keyed into with their concept Tera, the exercise mat that is a rug by day and a tech fueled health tool whenever you’re ready to get your workout on.

Skype Translate – new technology from Microsoft looks like the translation breakthrough we’ve been waiting for

We reckon that deep down everyone would like to be a fluent linguist in multiple languages. It’s just so cool to be able to walk into a room and start chatting away in a different language to a friend or family member. As someone who can barely speak one language, that makes me severely envious.

The Britt Pedal – convert any bike into an electric bike instantly by changing the pedals

If you’ve ever struggled up a hill on your bicycle and wished there was a way to make the task easier, you might be interested in this interesting product which is apparently under development. We say apparently, because although it’s won a few awards, there’s been no real sighting of a real working prototype, and so we have to file it under ‘possibly too good to be true.‘
