Ion LP2CD – burn MP3s or a CD directly from your vinyl

Ionlp2cd

The Ion LP2CD Converter lets you transfer all your old Grateful Dead bootlegs directly onto CD without the need for any nasty computer type equipment getting in the way. Just you, your memories, and a pitcher full of tepid Sangria. Just drop the dusty scratched and clinically warped plastic on the deck and hit the play and record buttons. Job done. Of course you may need to tweak up the wow and flutter a little afterwards with some editing software, which is probably why it’s supplied with the unit along with a USB port. Enjoy, hippie! $399.95.

Simply Plug in LP 2 CD, place your record on the turntable, insert a blank CD. Play your vinyl, hit the record button and let LP 2 CD do the rest! LP 2 CD includes EZ Vinyl Converter 2 (EZVC2) for PC and EZ Audio Converter (EZAC) for Mac; the simplest way to record and convert vinyl directly to iTunes. EZVC2 features Gracenote® MusicID technology, which analyzes your vinyl and automatically retrieves album, artist and song information for you! EZAC lets you easily enter track information. You can now digitally archive your collection in just a few mouse clicks. It’s as easy as 1-2-3:

  • Looks like a neat gadget to convert one’s vinyl collection to digital. I only have a comment that I don’t mean to sound knit-picky; Grateful Dead bootlegs (of which I have over 1000 hours) typically were traded via cassette tape, sometimes reel-to-reel, more often DAT, and only sometimes CD. I never ran across any vinyl Dead bootlegs. Vinyl Dead ALBUMS however are a whole other kettle of Phish. :)

  • I miss the bit of writing on the back of CD cases that used to list all the various distortions
    Things like:
“Wow and Flutter – below measurable levels”

Just so people knew they were getting a quality CD!

    *sigh*
