FonStruct is a free online font building tool. You create the font, and the service then turns it into a ‘high-quality TrueType font’ ready for Mac or Windows. You’re also encouraged to share the results of your brilliant genius via an online gallery which features tags, voting and intelligent categorisation.
It’s all rather cool, although I must say that typography and font creation in general are not easy crafts, and usually amateur results are fairly average. But if you’re a font-master itching to get your skillz in front of the right people, then this could be a good place to start. Definitely worth a look.
When you, as a designer, share your FontStructions you can choose from a number of different Creative Commons licenses. These licenses are displayed on the web page of each FontStruction, they are embedded in the digital font files, and they are included as a text file as part of each download.
