Bookeen CyBook Gen3 eBook – e-paper reading device says eat your heart out Mr Kindle

Bookeen

The new Bookeen CyBook Gen3 epaper reading device holds 1000 books, and is billed as the thinnest, lightest book reader device on the market. Add in a 2 GB SD memory card and store 10,000 books and hey, it plays MP3 music too. You need more? It’s daylight readable, supports PRC, txt, HTML and PDF book formats as well as MP3, JPG, GIF and PNG, so you should be good to go with all your fave content. Looks good from here, and so much prettier than that Amazon thing. Oh and the batteries last for 8000 screen refreshes per charge. Price? $350.00.

The Cybook screen is viewable under a wide range of lighting conditions, including direct sunlight and possesses a paper-like high contrast appearance. Like a sheet of paper, it can be viewed from nearly any angle, doesn’t show any flicker effect and has a high resolution. When you read, you have no eyestrain and it definitely gives you the experience of reading from paper.

Before we say “eat your heart out…”

Don’t forget about the “always on wireless” that the Kindle has with automated deliver of blogs, newspapers, books, magazines – and, let’s not forget 24×7 access to wikipedia for no extra charge.
