The Satmap Active10 Sports GPS is not for you whiny, weedy car drivers, oh no. We’re talking a waterproof, shock proof rugged, 2900mAh Lithium Polymer battery miser of a satellite navigation device which will guide you up the side of Mount WallaWalla and down again before breakfast without breaking wind. Yep, the Sherpa Tensing of handhelds, this. 3.5 inch screen and SD card map storage covering all the important dangerous places you’ll want to go on a Sunday afternoon. As long as they’re in the UK right now (international coming apparently). £299.99 complete with a set of trek worthy maps.

Can I use the Active 10 in cold weather? Yes. The Active 10 has large buttons that can easily be pressed whilst wearing gloves, without accidental presses of nearby buttons. The unit itself has been tested down to -10 deg C, but as with all battery powered devices, the real problems at these temperatures is that batteries cease to operate effectively at very low temperatures.
