The new Zepii (beware loud Who! music) is an electric scooter with a difference. At just £849 + VAT it ranks as one of the cheapest forms of electric transport on the road, rivalling even electric bicycles. It gets 40 miles on an 8 hour charge, although you can do a fast charge for four hours and get 80% of the range. It’s also deliciously retro, with lots of chrome bits which will undoubtedly rust quicker than you can say ‘cheap Chinese import’.
The other big thing of course is that 40 miles of transport will cost around 8p, which is a big bonus if you’re a regular city traveller. And yes yes I know that it takes power stations to make the juice etc etc. Here’s a short video showing off the features.
Your scooter comes with a small mains charger that simply plugs into any mains outlet. A quick charge takes around four hours and will fill the battery up to approximately 80% or a full charge will take 8 hours. There are some cities that are installing ‘Park and Charge’ points where you can as the name suggests park and charge you scooter. It is advisable to leave you scooter on charge whenever you are not riding it.
