Sky Never Miss – revolutionary new movie reminder service goes into beta

Skynevermiss

Sky Television has just released a beta of what could be the most revolutionary service ever to hit the television and movie world. Never Miss is an email service which you can use to receive notifications of any TV series or movie you want to see. Log on, select the series or film you would like to see and the service will email you five days before it’s about to be aired. It covers around 34,000 movies and 80 series including blockbusters like Lost and House, and they’re promising to keep adding to it. You can even request a series to be added if it’s not on the list.

Combine this with a DVR like the Sky+ device, and a good recommendation service like WhattoRent.com and suddenly TV becomes ‘fire and forget’ easy. New movie hits the big screen, but you’re not that bothered about seeing it immediately? Just log on to Sky and book it into your schedule. Sure it may take months to arrive, but you don’t have to worry about it any more. The next feature it needs is to automatically record for you once you’ve selected it, which will be superb.

Of course it also lets the company monitor which products customers really want to see, which is a double bonus. I can see this becoming a hugely useful tool for both sides, viewers and the channel. Very cool indeed.

With Never Miss from Sky, you’ll never miss your favourite programmes again! Just sign into Sky.com/nevermiss with your Sky ID to add movie titles or TV series seasons to your My Notifications list and we’ll send you an email reminder whenever the film or the first episode of the programme you specified is on TV – whether that’s four weeks or six months after you set the reminder.
