FET – free timetabling software for schools

Fettimetablingsoftware

FET is a free open source timetabling program for schools, colleges, universities…in fact any educational establishment that needs to maintain and use classroom timetables. It’s multi-platform, comes in a variety of languages and outputs XML and HTML timetables on demand. From the look of the specs it’s hugely flexible, and looks to be able to cope with just about every eventuality. Neat.

FET is open source free software for automatically scheduling the timetable of a school, high-school or university. It uses a fast and efficient timetabling algorithm. It is licensed under GNU/GPL. FET version 5 is released. You are encouraged to use it, because of the new much better algorithm. The new 5 series version seems to be very performant. It might be comparable to expensive timetabling software. The solution is usually obtained in maximum 5-20 minutes.
