Solicall is a small freeware utility that offers noise reduction for your Internet phone calls. It works with most softphone products, but it won’t work on Windows Vista (only XP and 2000) which is a weird one. The idea is the software identifies your voice, maps its frequencies and then filters out all extraneous sound to let your words shine through in crystal clearness. It offers echo cancelling and call recording as well, which is nice.
To use it with Skype, install the program then go to the Skype Tools– Audio Settings page and set ‘Solicall Audio Device’ as the microphone and audio out/speakers defaults. Here’s a review.
