ZBoost Cellphone Signal Extender – improve the reception of your handset in your home

Cellphonesignalextender

The ZBoost Cellphone Signal Extender promises to improve the mobile phone reception in your home or your signal bars back. Plonk the aerial in a nearby window, connect the cable and put the unit in a convenient site and bingo, you’ve got improved cell reception on tap. They’re talking enough of an improvement to cover 2 or 3 additional rooms. Not bad. Note that you need to select the right model for your service provider. £249.99.

Well quit staring at your one-bar-worth of signal strength and pick up this handy Cellphone Signal Extender for your home or office. Simply mount the included antenna near a window and run the coax cable to the base booster unit. You get 2500 square feet of prime signal area (enough to cover 2-3 rooms on two different floors).

  • I've had one of these and recommend it with some caveats.

My carrier is AT&T, Edge only, no 3G. In my 2300sf house I would typically get 1 bar using 3 phones (Motorola, Samsung, and Nokia). After finally getting this optimally set-up I usually get 3 – 4 bars, occasionally 5. But it varies even on an hourly basis.

You have to really read the instructions. In my experience the two units need to be separated vertically by at least 20ft, the more the better. The placement and orientation of the inside amplifier is critical as well. Just moving it a few feet, or rotating it will affect the overall boost, and what part of the house gets an improvement.

I no longer miss calls or text messages, so that good. But it doesn't give me 5 bars, and the unit needs to rebooted every now and them. Until AT&T comes out with their internet-connected booster, the ZBoost might be an improvement for some.
