I've had one of these and recommend it with some caveats.
My carrier is AT&T, Edge only, no 3G. In my 2300sf house I would typically get 1 bar using 3 phones (Motorola, Samsung, and Nokia). After finally getting this optimally set-up I usually get 3 – 4 bars, occasionally 5. But it varies even on an hourly basis.
You have to really read the instructions. In my experience the two units need to be separated vertically by at least 20ft, the more the better. The placement and orientation of the inside amplifier is critical as well. Just moving it a few feet, or rotating it will affect the overall boost, and what part of the house gets an improvement.
I no longer miss calls or text messages, so that good. But it doesn't give me 5 bars, and the unit needs to rebooted every now and them. Until AT&T comes out with their internet-connected booster, the ZBoost might be an improvement for some.
