Crikey people. Heinz invents a new tomato sauce ketchup sachet and suddenly it’s all over the internetz with people making out that it may just cure cancer or something.
Well, Down Under where I come from you always bought ketchup tomato sauce in silly little dipping containers which were completely useless for meat pies, the staple Australian food. So the boffins at Masterfoods and Conoflex Packaging came up with this little beauty, the Masterfoods Squeeze-On Tomato Sauce sachet.
Snap it in half, squeeze the two pouches together and you’re dispensing tomato sauce with 0.1mL precision. No more dipping, no more scooping out sauce. Simple. Clean. Elegant. Oh and it was invented in 1990.
Sure, the new Heinz thingie is bigger and is designed for use in cars, but can you open it one handed? Can you get every single last drop out of it one handed? Hmm, didn’t think so.
Heinz has introduced a new dual-format ketchup sachet for the US market to make on-the-go consumption cleaner and more convenient. Heinz describes the “Dip & Squeeze” as a “true packaging breakthrough” as the lid can be peeled back for easy dipping or the tip torn off to squeeze onto foods.
